About Company

Uber Eats is a delivery platform that was launched by Uber in 2014. The platform revolves around a smartphone app that allows customers to browse restaurants near them, then place an order. The restaurant will receive the order, make the food, then hand it over to an independent delivery driver for transport to the customer.

Delivery couriers, called Uber Eats Delivery Partners, are 1099 contractors employed by Uber to fulfill deliveries. The contractors are paid on a weekly basis, and compensated for each delivery they make. They earn a base rate for each delivery, then get to keep the customer tips on top of that wage.

I love driving for Uber Eats. The pay is not great all the time, but it is worth doing. The orders are easy to pick up and manage, and there is very limited contact with customers which I like. Unlike rideshare driving, Uber Eats deliveries require only contact with the restaurant when picking up the orders, and contact with customers when dropping them off. This is a plus if you are a homebody like me that doesn’t like casual conversation with strangers that you don’t know.

I like the Uber Eats app and the amount of work I am given when logged on. Don’t rely on this income instead of a full time job. I make good extra money, but would not suggest doing this full time.
